Citation
Description The first findings of stove tiles from the castle Orlík near Humpolec come from the 1939, significant increase was recorded through a set of long-term archaeological research commenced in 1993. Extensive collection is not yet completely processed and archaeological excavations at the site are not closed. The conclusions presented should thus be treated as a preliminary view of the selected series, which could most likely to form a single stove body in the 15th - 17th century. Documented findings have a number of historical analogies in stove tiled material mainly from the Czech lands. The relief decoration of some specimens is unique and according to heraldic elements have been commissioned by the owners of the castle.
