| Description | The book presents a review study that focuses on the topic of expertise in teaching and the process of its development. In the book, general theories of expertise and expert performance are introduced that have been formulated in various areas of human endeavour. Models of the teacher and their professional learning and approaches to expert performance in teaching are also introduced that build on these models, with particular emphasis on the teaching of foreign languages. Towards the end of the book, determinants of the development of teacher expertise in foreign language teachers are discussed. |
