Description The author offers in this article description of events that led to failure of Greek campaign in Asia Minor. The main objective of this campaign was to gain former Ottoman territory inhabitated by Greeks. In the end this attempt failed because of lack of competence of the Greek government led by king Constantine I and resistance of Turkish kemalist units defending the nascent Turkish republic. Greeks were finally pushed out of Asia Minor and Turkish units took revenge by total destruction of Greek city of Smyrna.
