| Description | The lecture will look at the issue of competition in rail transport from the perspective of economic theory. We start with the history and economic analysis of different types of organization of rail transport in the world since the very beginning of its establishment. Then we move to the present and compare the historical experience with current organization of the industry in the world and especially in the European Union in the context of railway packages. In detail we will anylyze the first experience with commercial open access services in Italy, Austria and Sweden. |
