Description Integration can in a sense be regarded as an integral part of the development of psychotherapeutic systems. In this paper we deal with the question of what motivates therapists to integrate. Our study suggests that this motivation can be described by six broad categories: Empiricism, Scientific attitude, Therapeutic humility, Perceived inefficacy, Need to comprehend and Striving for congruence. This category is also reminiscent of the characteristics of so called master therapists.
