Description The paper deals with a co-operation between theatre scientists and artists, which is necessary, but not always possible. The paper is focused on one incident which happened at a Czech theatre festival called OST-RA-VAR in 2013. This festival has been held besides other things to enable theatre theoreticians and practitioners to communicate with each other during panel discussions, however during the last volume of this festival an attempt to implement a reciprocally contributive debates failed. An unenviable position of theatrologists is described as well as reasons of this misunderstanding and possible solutions of this problem.
