| Description | This contribution discusses new findings regarding the building development of the Šaumburk castle(Rajnochovice cadastral zone). According to written sources, this mighty castle was constructed in the last third of the 13th century as the seat of the Olomouc Bishopric vassals. The castle became deserted in the first half of the14th century. Recent finds of architectural elements confirm building activities on the site after 1300. The research has also yielded archaeological material including valuable cup nested weights. |
