Keywords Veselí nad Moravou – high Middle Ages – castle – bailey – wooden artefacts
Description The article discusses wooden artefacts unearthed in the bailey of Veselí nad Moravou Castle. The castle is situated in the alluvial plain of the River Morava, and these rare artefacts have survived due to the high level of ground water. The series includes items of everyday life such as handles and grips, washtubs, pitchforks and wickerwork products, as well as parts of furniture, doors, beams, latches, windows, shingles, wainscoting and others. Although the series is relatively small, it is considerably varied and exceptional owing to the location. It is dated to the period between the second half of the 13th century and the early 14th century.
