Description The author of the present study reflects upon the problems and research significance of the spatial-temporal relations in literature‚ upon M. Bakhtins chronotope and upon his own contribution to the analysis of the so far fashionable category. He demonstrates the category time-space as a methodological tool using it in the framework of the investigating of the genre novel-chronicle. He criticizes the fashionable conceptions of the world or even the cosmos of the literary artefact as an obvious exaggeration of spatial notions regarding chronotopical conceptions as a specific metaphor of real spatial-temporal relations insisting on the concrete verification of the real relations of time and space applying them to his analytical research of the novel-chronicle. Time-space as a methodological approach can be considered an illusion, nostalgia, but also a research reality promising, perhaps, new results even in the future.
