Description | Self-regulation is fundamental aspect of functioning involving behavior and experience modulation. Self-regulatory strategies serve as protective factors that positively influence future life. We focused on self-regulation in the context of coping with stress, parenting styles, self-efficacy and self-esteem in a crucial period for the development of self-regulatory strategies. Sample consisted of MU students (19-29 years) who completed online questionnaires: Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Academic and Social SOC Questionnaires, Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale, Coping Strategies Inventory and Perception of Parents Scale. Regression analysis results showed that biggest variability proportion of academic self-regulation types was explained coping strategies (especially social support and problem avoidance). Self-characteristics (especially self-efficacy) explained biggest variability in social self-regulation. |
