| Description | The aim of this contribution is phenomenon of so called National Houses in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century, specifically on the segment built by German inhabitants of Moravia. National Houses arose in the era of growing nationalism, when two nations of Moravia strongly delimited to each other. Investors of these buildings were usually various associations and clubs, whose join forces together to built representative house and National Houses became centres of social and cultural life. At first this contribution attempts to define National House as a specific building type. At second the contribution zoomed in problem of expression of national symbols in architecture and decorations. |
