Description | The contribution deal with two German National Houses, which were built in the end of 19th century in so called Northern (or German) Renaissance-revival style. The one in Brno was designed by architects Hermann Ende and Wilhelm Böckmann, the one in Ostrava by Felix Neumann. Paper focused on architectonical style of both buildings and also on decoration of their facades and interiors. Goal was to show the symbolical meaning of elements used as embellishment and also to find similarities and differences between both houses. |
