| Description | In this chapter, Nela Martinková introduces a relatively new branch of applied linguistics. Her work describes the development of this new linguistic method from its beginnings up to the trends of today. The author describes developments in individual countries and, during this, introduces several leading names and works within the subject area. The term "political language" is also defined, as well as various methodologies and conceptions for research into this linguistic phenomenon. The article's second part is a survey of political language's development in Bulgaria. It analyzes the Communist era, developments after 1989, and then the newest trends in Bulgarian political communication. |
