Description | The manuscript by Valerius Maximus, now stored in the Bavarian State Library in Munich, whose origin was determined by experts in the clerical and illuminators workshop of Johánek of Střílky. This workshop worked for ecclesiastical authorithies and the circle of humanist scholars around Jošt Lucemburský since 1385 to 1400 in Olomouc. The manuscript is dated to 1385 and contains the complete nine books of the Valerius's work. His conclusion is credited brief letter Epistola Valerii ad Rufinum. The Munich manuscript occupies an important place in the collection of bohemical manuscripts of Valerius Maximus mainly because of the identification of its origin and its client belongin to the representatives of early humanism in the Czech lands . |
