Description The work analyses the level and state of research of Moravian Early Modern feudal (seignorial) cities and their inhabitants in the 1990s and in the first decade of the 21st century. The analysis is preceded by an outline of research conditions in the 1970s and 1980s. One the one hand, it points to the lack of systematically conceived research manifested, among other, by the absence of modern synthesis of this type of city habitat for Moravia (similarly also for Bohemia) and, on the other, to quantitatively intensive research and research that varies in terms of content that provides results from a wide spectrum of research topics, some of which have preserved research continuity with earlier periods (i.e. documentary editions, the study of the capital justice system and socio-economic relations of the city's inhabitants), and some which were the results of reflections of some new research approaches in European urban historiography.
