Description | Author deals with the concept of Russia in works of Josef Holeček, significant Czech writer, author of the rural epic Naši, but also a long-time editor of Národní listy who led Slavic section in this newspaper. Holeček‘s publicity works focusing on Russia: Rusko-české kapitoly, Zájezd na Rus and wide-ranging Národní moudrost are briefly analysed. Holeček’s concept of Russia showing signs of deep Russophilism was unconventional and non-conformist in its time in the Czech environment and reflected Holeček’s social-political ideal of impersonated conservative, patriarchal and rural society whose many features according to him, had just Russia. |
