Description The traditional typology of arguments is modest and distinguishes only between deductive and inductive arguments. The presentation addresses two related topics. First, to what extent is the distinction between deductive and inductive arguments meaningful; secondly, to what the extent is the distinction complete. In the first part I compare the structural, semantic and pragmatic view to the identification of arguments. In the second part I pay attention to the richer typologies of arguments.
