Description The paper analysed dying Seneca sculpture from colonnade of Kroměříž Flower Garden. The model for Kroměříž Seneca comes from printed serie mapping sculptures of Villa Pamphilj in Rome (1649). Kroměříž Seneca was made after Hellenistic sculpture that was originally placed in Casino del Belrespiro and nowadays is exhibited in Vatican Museums (now interpreted as old fisherman). However in the early modern period the sculpture had been connected with Dying Seneca as well as its more famous version, so called Seneca Borghese (Musée du Louvre). The paper was concentrated on the iconographical motive of dying Seneca in early modern period and on the ideological context of Kroměříž colonnade.
