| Description | Present article explores the relation between politics and literature in the Czech lands in the time span ranging from the Middle Ages to the year 1800. Using selected examples from literature and history, it traces mechanisms of ruling power palpable already in the oldest Latin literature in our lands as well as religious polemics and the development of censorship. |
