Description | The paper presents a study of vitality of Gypsy loanwords in the Spanish criminal jargon during 19th and 20th centuries as they are reflected in internal materials of the Spanish Police and the Civil Guard. The hypothesis is that being internal materials, based on primary sources (interrogations of criminals and prisoners), they could be quite genuine and corresponding to reality, as they suffered no press from the publishing industry and the market. |
