Description Roman Jakobson's theory of communication is quite often trivialised -- and reduced to three elements only: sender, message, receiver -- since it gets flattened to contemporaneity. In the talk I shall argue that all the six elements of Jokobson's theory are instead relevant from a philological point of view, and that the message itself should be regarded as a process instead of a datum.
