Description Modern structured products are mostly derivative financial instruments aimed at retail clients. These products allow implementing different investment strategies using derivatives by retail investors. Currently it is issued and traded many types of structured products at the markets. The potential investor has a very difficult orientation in order to make effectively decision and choose a product that meets his expectations and risk profile. Systematization of this segment of investment instruments is necessary. Modern structured products can be classified according to several criteria. This paper intends to focus on the qualitative characteristics of structured products, which are common to all structured products. These characteristics will be considered as potential criteria of systematization of modern structured products and according to relevant criteria will be designed systematization.
