Description | The paper looks into certain principled connections between total object inclusion, affectedness and causality in transitive structures in locomotion verbs. It shows that causally affected direct object participants display a holistic status involving total affectedness by the action. In locomotion situations in which the participant in the direct object position is not causally affected by the action, the participant's total inclusion in the action is a mere potential feature and correlates with the telicity of the motion situation. |
