| Description | The analysis introduces a museum education programme called Old Masters. This programme has been put into practice in Brno City Museum in cooperation with the Museology Section of the Department of Archaeology and Museology at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno. The programme has been designed for pupils of lower secondary schools. It employs up-to-date trends of museum and gallery education, and offers pupils some insight into the context of creation of various pieces of art exhibited in the old-art permanent exhibitions in Špilberk castle, Brno. The programme uses direct interaction with the exhibits to teach the pupils to recognise characteristics of historical periods from Renaissance to the 19th century. It also builds up and supports positive relationship to art and culture as intangible cultural and historical heritage of the mankind. |
