Description | This paper deals with a topic which seemingly doesn't bear relation to the topic of the conference: borders and its transformation. The main question of the paper is how people, who were forced (or decided) to leave their homes in Czechoslovakia after the soviet invasion in 1968, perceived their new home in the Austrian capital. This group of people (at least some of its members who successfully integrated into Austrian society) serves as an example whereon psychological aspects of emigration and following integration are displayed. What “home” meant for Czechs living in Vienna and where it was? Was it really across the border? |
