Description | The autor of the present study deals with the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky Crime and Punishment (1866) and its reception in both Czech and Slovak literature. She chose three works: the novel written by Czech prosaist Miloslav Nohejl The World Knows Nothing (1934) and two Slovak novellas – Crime and Penitence (1900) by Svetozár Hurban Vajanský and Behind the Upper Mill (1926) by Milo Urban. The author pays attention to the title, genre, motifs, characters, but also to the incipit, explicit and symbology hidden in works. |
