Description Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) or coordination polymers represent relatively new class of nanoporous materials synthesized from inorganic nodes and organic linkers in a “building-block approach”. Some of the most intensively studied applications are related to energy saving and as sorbents for contaminant gases in environmental applications. This seminar will bring together a variety of participants working as experts in materials synthesis, and as well as experts in diverse applications of MOFs in all aspects of analytical chemistry: separation science, MALDI, SELDI, sample preparation, etc.) and, in medicine. The meeting is expected to be an exciting forum for evaluating and discussing state-of-the art of these materials, with the purpose of inspiring the development of new applications in analytical chemistry, applied sciences, or medicine while suggesting the broadening of new concepts for synthesis. CONTENT • Introduction: MALDI, various kinds of matrices • Nano-materials as matrix in mass spectrometry (SALDI) • MOFs as matrix in MS: What are MOFs, properties, applications (gas storage and separation, adsorption various molecules, …) , applications in mass spectrometry of small molecules, solid phase extraction prior MS analysis. • Own results: HKUST-1, Fe-BTC • Summary and conclusion, Acknowledgements
