| Description | The article is based on a seminar paper elaborated in the Department of Archaeology and Museology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (Schindlerová 2015). The aim of the work is to analyse and evaluate medieval and post–medieval pottery from archaeological excavations at the road in Mrákotín (Jihlava district), which were carried out by the Jihlava department of the company Archaia Brno in 2010. Kitchen pottery and tableware unearthed during the excavations were processed with the help of a database in the Microsoft Access programme. The evaluation with the help of a description system was focused on the types and forms of vessels found, and quantitative representation of pottery in individual features. Individual types of rims, bottoms, handles and lids were determined. Pottery fragments were classed with individual ceramic classes based on properties of clay material. The work also comprises analysis and evaluation of other artefacts which were obtained during this excavation, namely the metal objects (coin, button, knife, nails, iron slag), tiles, building ceramics, clay daub and bones. |
