Description | Paper for this conference presents my doctoral research, which is focused on aristocracy in the 19th century and administration of their estates. In the centre of my interest is Estate of Nasavrky in Eastern Bohemia. This estate was the biggest of estates administered by the younger branch of the princely family of Auersperg in Bohemia in the 19th century. First I have investigated the origins of this estate, how it was established and when. I want to present how is possible to lead the research of this type of study. After the establishment of the estate starts other part of my research. How was this estate managed? There were several branches of administration. Currently, I am interested in forest management; there are other areas, economy, sugar industry, and mining and chemistry factory. Which archives own the administration files of former estates? Which materials provide appropriate information? The goal of my postgraduate research is to paint a picture of noblemen, who adapted to the pressures of modern times as a businessman and farmer. |
