| Description | The text deals with social-cultural aspect of the cognitive abilities development. We characterize attention, visual perception, categorization and intelligence. We focus on possible fair testing of cognitive abilities, mainly intelligence. Also presented are results of our own research, comparing visual perception, attention and categorization in children from various social-cultural environments starting school attendance. We compare Romanise children from socially disadvantaged environment, who attend preparatory classes, with children from the majority population. Children (n = 277) differed in their abilities of categorization, and (less) in visual perception. Based on the results we described recommendations for education of Romanise children from socially disadvantaged environment. |
