Description | The lecture deals with the issue of sociolinguistic code-switching in the speech of Czech sports commentators. It deals with a "microphone gaffe", i.e. a chance recording on their half-time chat that was not intended for the broadcast audiences. The presentation maps the contrasts between two codes in the Czech language, and interprets them with view to the dichotomy of stylization and authenticity of speech of individuals appearing on camera. |
