Description | The contribution focused on the reflexion of the person and oeuvre of Sophronius Eusebius Hieronymus (saint Jerome) in the travelogue of the Czech renaissance nobleman Christopher Harant of Polžice and Bezdružice. The contribution dealt with Harant's Jerome from two perspectives: as a citation authority and as a person whose "footprints" Harant encounters in the Holy Land. The form of Harant's citations of Jerome's and pseudo-Jerome's works was analyzed thoroughly together with the character of information drawn from the works. Attention was also paid to Harant's perception of the person of saint Jerome. |
