Description Anotace anglicky The paper deals with an origin and function of outstanding memorial space in the Divine Providence Church in Šenov. The church was found in the second half of the 18th century by Karel František Skrbenský z Hříště (1684 – 1768), who wanted to build family mausoleum and to display a new confessional identity of his family. Into the church was replaced the renaissance tombstone of Jaroslav Skrbenský, great-grandfather of Karel František. New baroque tombstones of Karel František and other two ancestors were created in historicist style, which tries to reproduce renaissance tombstone. All the ancestors of Karel František were protestants but he self became catholic and other artworks in the church (like altar with Charles the Great destroying idols) accents his new catholic belief.
