Description | The autor outlines basic characteristics of the formation and development of modern music analysis. At the outset he reminds that music analysis emerged as an independent discipline relatively recently. While earlier it was considered a component of compositional theory, it has been acknowledged as an integral part of musicological knowledge an music reception only since the 20th century. Since then, more attention has been given to Hugo Riemann, Guido Adler and Heinrich Schenker. |
