Description | The goal of this study was to explore the possibilities of implementing a cloud solution for an enterprise information system in SME in real estate sector and to explore facts and “myths” about benefits and suitability of cloud solutions specific for SMEs. This study also presents and discusses the propriety of use of The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) for analysing Enterprise Architecture in SME. In order to fulfil the goal of this research single-case study methodology was employed. TOGAF was used for as-is analysis of the current enterprise information solution and for analysis of requirements for possible cloud solution in SME in service sector. This study is one of the few studies which show that cloud solution is not necessarily beneficial for SMEs and that on-site solutions can still have an economic rationale for them. The lack of cloud products and integration providers (cloud brokers) is another interesting finding of this study. Further research should focus on the possibilities of the supply of cloud brokers for SMEs and on enablers that are necessary for beneficial adopting of cloud-based solutions for SMEs. |
