Keywords Frank Wollman’s polemics with German and Polish Slavists; the hypothetical unity of Slavonic literatures; the nature of panslavism; Ľ. Štúr; Slavonic idea; slavisms and antislavisms; myth of the unity of Slavs; slavism and eidology of literature
Description The author deals with the polemics led by the Czech slavist Frank Wollman (1888-1969) with German and Polish slavists in which he manifested that that were the Poles at the beginning of the 19th century who suggested Europe the myth of the unity of the Slavs, not the representatives of the 19th-century Czech national revival. Most significant is Wollman’s consistent scholarly approach based on the morphological comparative conception of literary artefacts.
