| Description | The article, which due to understandable reasons can undertake the studies on the „elites and masses“ in the period of confiscations after the battle of White Mountain only in a shape of a simplifying outline, does not aspire to the role of later polemics with the aboventioneted acknowledgement of Czech and Central European history. However, it shows that the proces of deconstruction and construction of the elites, that is their continuity and discontinuity, is a natural component of changes associated with confiscations after the battle of White Mountain, which should be understood not only as a redistribution of land properties but as changes taking place in the context of general political and social transformations of that time. If we wanted to emphasise confiscation of immovable property and its subsequent allocation to a new owner as the essence of the entire proces, we should not forget about the direct link with the „masses of the subjects“ who inhabited the confiscated properties and whose role in the studied period was far from that of a passive participant of the events. Even though the sources created in association with the proces of confiscations sometimes perceive the subjects as in fact an anonymous mass of people, the subjected residents of confiscated goods are in reality individual people who interact openly with the members of the elites, directly influencing and contributing to the proces of confiscations. |
