Description The author of the article deals with the dominant stages of the development of Ukrainian studies in Brno from the modest beginning in the interwar period through various limitations up to its culmination since the 1990s up to now. He accentuates the study of language, the work of lecturers, but, above all, a book of Mečislav Krhoun on the biliteral poet Yuri Fedkovych, a representative of the Bukovina Ukrainian and German literature. He also mentions the names of the significant Brno slavists who dealt with Ukrainian studies of the present time.
