| Description | During the second half of the 20th century the concept of "kitsch" migrated from the world of art to another dimensions of culture. Kitsch is now connected with morality and politics, in the past few years we should find kitsch also in spiritual dimensions of culture and life. This is what I call "ESO-Kitsch". The base for this concept is derived from the structurational theory of Anthony Giddens and from the definition of Kitsch formulated by Tomáš Kulka. The relevance of Kulka's definition of Kitsch for non-visual artefacts is examined in this lecture. |
