| Description | This paper aims to describe whether and how two synodical sermons of Jan Hus (Diliges Dominum Deum from the year 1405 and State succincti from 1407) fulfil an ideal form of medieval thematic sermon, how it is described in so-called Artes praedicandi. This paper compares the synodical sermons of Hus with five preaching handbooks from 14th century - with Artes praedicandi by Robert Basevorn, Jacobus de Fusignano and with three shorter texts known by their incipits - Quamvis, Hic docet and Vade in domum. |
