Citation
Description This chapter deals with some modern theories of life-span development, that emerged mainly in the last quarter of the 20th century. These are mainly psychological, sociological and system-oriented theories. Individual approaches are embedded in a broader contextual framework, together with an analysis of shared characteristics and original resources. It also offers a comparison with the classical theories of development, which stood at their origins and influenced their direction (often critical).
