Description | In a pre-modern period, di?usion of innovations through a cultural system was more than today limited by spatial constraints and, because of its political unity and economic connectivity, the Roman Empire represents an ideal context to study impact of them. Recently, the modelling platform ORBIS: The Stanford Geospatial Network Model of the Roman World has been created, based on digitalized Roman road network and following the debate on maritime travelling in ancient Mediterranean. In this paper, we extend ORBIS-based network with demographic and economic factors, so it is possible to build on it when constructing more realistic di?usion models. |
