| Description | After the creation of Czechoslovakia in 1918, under changed social and political conditions a new subject of the history of public and private law in Central Europe was introduced at the Faculties of Law. Miloslav Stieber and Rudolf Rauscher, who taught this subject in Prague and Bratislava, had to deal with the problem of the unity of research and teaching in the scope of Central European legal history. Their textbooks on the history of private law in Central Europe reflect the different views of both professors on the role and tasks of legal history. In this sense, they can also be considered an interesting contribution to the history of legal science in the interwar period. |
