Description This chapter summarises archaeological background for skeletal remains excavated at the 2nd church cemetery of the northeast suburb in Pohansko (Břeclav, Czech Republic). The 2nd church was discovered in 2006 in the northeast suburb of Pohansko dated into the final stage of Early Medieval occupation belonging to the Great Moravian Empire. In the first part, we show details about excavation, dating and reconstruction of the 2nd church and cemetery. In the second part, we briefly provide context for the Great Moravian occupation in the Central Europe. Finally, we also briefly summarise the early Medieval context from the 9th and 10th centuries.
