| Description | In this paper I address a puzzle concerning different semantic interpretations of Polish NPs modified by basic cardinal numerals, e.g. dwaj studenci (‘two students’), and NPs headed by numerals with the suffix -k-, e.g. dwójka studentów (‘(group of) two students’), with respect to distributivity and collectivity. To describe distribution of numerals with the suffix -k- a corpus study was conducted. The analysis uses formal semantic plurality framework of Landman (2000). |
