Description The author has dealt with the judicial review of the monetary decisions of the European central bank. First, he outlined the recent monetary policy tools used by the ECB, so that he could explain the ongoing case dealt by the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning the expanded asset purchase program carried out by the ECB. The case got in August 2017 to CJEU, as the Second Senate of the German Federal Constitutional Court stayed the proceedings concerning the question whether the abovementioned monetary policy tool of the ECB for the purchase of public sector securities is compatible with the German Basic Law, and referred several questions to the CJEU for a preliminary ruling.
