Description The presentation titled "Geopolitics of the Nuclear Power Plant Projects in the Baltic Region" analyzed the strategic interests of key regional actors in the nuclear energy projects in the Baltic region, namely Visaginas NPP in Lithuania, Neman NPP in Kaliningrad and Astravets NPP in Belarus. The paper was especially focused on the geopolitical aspects and strategic interests of these nuclear projects, primarily concerned with the Astravets NPP constructed by subsidiary company of the Russian Federation's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. ENERGETIKA XXI is a highly prestigious conference regularly held in St. Petersburg in the month of November to address recent developments in the energy sector on a global basis with special focus on Russia. It is organized by UNECON (the St. Petersburg State University of Economics) with financial support by public and private energy companies, combining an open academic atmosphere with the insights of representatives of important Russian energy companies.
