Description This contribution presents a selection of thirteen late medieval and early modern age fragments and body fragments of stove tiles with imprints of fabric on the back of the front heating wall. The tiles come from seven locations in Brno. A particular type of weave was identified with some of them, and micropetrographic analysis confirmed the manufacture from local clay acquired from a single extensive mining area on the Svitava River terrace. The use of fabric is combined with a medium-grain material, and was affected by individual skills regarding the process of shaping the front heating wall.
