Description | German chronicler Otto of Freising in his Chronicle or History of the two cities follows some extent lines laid down by Orosius and Augustine; in contrast he puts the heavenly and the earthly kingdoms – Jerusalem and Babel. Among his main sources we find Josephus Flavius, Jordanes, Eusebios of Cesareia, Frutolf etc. The largest contribution brings author in the seventh book in which he describes his present, and in Eighth Book. The main goal of the author was to capture the eternal strife between the realm of Christ and the realm of evil. The first Czech translation of this work. |
