Description | The paper is devoted to the influence of ideology and politics on the reception of Russian and Soviet theatre in the interwar Czechoslovakia. It displays complicated relationships of Czech leftist avant-garde with the Soviet constructivist avant-garde, the representatives of social realism, and with the numerous Russian emigrants to the interwar Czechoslovakia. The relationships built up in the middle of 1930s played an important role in a state politics of the totalitarian Czechoslovakia in 1950s. |
